i feel like it's also important to mention that op IS their brother. this was a silly exchange between siblings posted on twitter that blew up, not a genuine commentary on gen alpha. there was no contempt involved and i think it's pretty disingenuous to post this without that kind of clarification since you could be opening op up to a lot of hate from people who don't know the context and think he's being genuine instead of playful

This is very good behavior.

They didn't recognize the file extension.

They didn't recognize the EXE program.

And so they refused to open them.

That is excellent internet security hygiene.

They went to a trusted person (their brother) and verified WinRAR was legit and then proceeded to unpack the files.

How is this not *encouraging* for gen alpha? Is it just because they didn't know what WinRAR was? Who cares? I'm just proud they were being careful.
